Professionally performed, circular and radical liposuction can help patients permanently. What is equally important, however, is that every woman is allowed to express the desire for healthy, slimmer and more proportional legs! In this respect, lipedema surgery combines functionality and aesthetics, which makes this specialty particularly appealing.
Goals of radical and circular liposuction for lipedema
Our goals of surgical treatment are clearly defined:
- Eliminate or at least significantly reduce the pain
- To sustainably stop the progression of chronic fat proliferation
- To remove the pathological fatty tissue from the treated areas as completely as possible
- To make the wearing of flat-knitted compression stockings and manual lymphatic drainage unnecessary - but this is not always successful.
- Harmonize the silhouette and equalize the proportions and thereby
- Increase quality of life, enjoyment of life and well-being
The waterjet-assisted liposuction
"The" suction method for lipedema does not exist, in my opinion.
Much more important is who guides the cannula and what expertise the surgeon has.
Whereby I always emphasize: a good surgical treatment makes only about 50%, a human, cordial and good accompaniment the rest!
As a child of the water jet, I have always remained faithful to this methodology. In this procedure, a pulsating, jet-shaped water jet gently loosens the fat cells from their bond and suctions them out in the same operation. It is essential with every technique that your surgeon works in an axially correct manner in order to spare vessels and lymphatic channels.
This requires many small accesses. The fat cells are not destroyed in this gentle method, so they are clearly separated from the rinsing fluid in the collection canister. This gives us an exact overview of the volume of fat removed.
I love the waterjet because the cannula is easy and graceful to guide. There is no initial phase of impingement filling (cf. TLA technique). The method is therefore described by patients as more pleasant, especially in the postoperative course. There is no secretion for days.
